Entry Test Details
Since 1998 the procedure for admissions in medical colleges has
been changed. For admissions now entry tests play a major role in
the selection of students joining the college. Entry tests are held
once a year. The schedule for this years entry tests is given below

Answering the MCQ's
Sample Questions
General Information
a). The Entry Test will be conducted by a highly reputable independent
third party not related to the Government of the Punjab; which has
sufficient experience and established integrity in holding such
tests.
b). For admission to Medical/Dental Colleges of
the Punjab, a computerized, written Entry Test will be held based
on pre-medical F.Sc. and equivalent level questions covering Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and English, prescribed by the Boards of Intermediate
and Secondary Education Punjab and the Federal Board of Intermediate
and Secondary Education.
c). The Entry Test will comprise of four sections.
There will be 180 multiple choice questions, 50 each in Biology,
Chemistry, Physics and 30 in English.
d) The duration of the Test will be 2 hours.
General Instructions
i). The candidate will be provided with a question paper (Multiple
Choice Questions), a separate pre-printed answer sheet and a rough
work sheet.
ii). The candidate will be required to write his/her name and application
number on the top of the question paper, answer sheet and rough
work sheet.
iii). All rough work must be done on the rough work sheet.
iv) In order to ensure a fair chance to every candidate and to
conduct the Test efficiently, the candidate must carefully follow
the instructions given in this booklet and by the instructor.
v). The instructor will inform the candidate when to start work
on any part of the test and when to stop. It is of utmost importance
that the work is performed only on that part on which the test is
in progress.
vi) In the interest of fairness, we insist that no one may continue
work even for a second after the Instructor has asked that the work
be stopped.
vii) During the test, do not talk, whisper, or turn your eyes or
head away from your own papers.
viii) Any evidence of cheating or non-compliance of instructions
will disqualify the candidate from the Test, and his name will be
removed from the list of the candidates for admission.
ix) The candidate will write the chosen alphabet in capital form
with black ballpoint in the relevant space of the answer sheet.
The candidate should think before writing the alphabet because any
crossing or over writing will be treated as wrong.
The candidates should not mark answers on the question paper, all
answers must be marked with the black ballpoint on the answer sheet
only.
About the Answer Sheet
The Test will be answered on a single, printed answer sheet.
a). Before attempting the test, the candidate will have to write
his admit card number (given on the Admit Card), his Name, father's
name, date of birth and center's name very carefully in the space
provided on the answer sheet.
b) For each question multiple choices will be given. The candidate
has to choose the correct one.
c) Each correct answer carries 4 marks; 1 mark will be deducted
for each wrong answer as there will be NEGATIVE MARKING..
d) The Candidate should bring with him the following:
1) Admit Card
2) A clipboard
3) Black Ballpoint
Answering the MCQ's
For every question, there are 4 choices. There is only one correct
answer.
To write the answer on the answer sheet, write the appropriate
alphabet in capital form with black ballpoint in the box e.g. If
C is your correct choice for a question then write C in the box.
In the examination center the candidate should read the question
slowly and very carefully and understand exactly what is being asked.
Underneath each question, there are 4 options, (possible answers)
A, B, C & D. Only ONE is correct or the best possible.
Example:-
A membrane network of channels which transports materials in a
cell is called:
A Mitochondria
B Lysosomes
C Endoplasmic Reticulum
D Chromatin Reticulum
A B C D
Endoplasmic Reticulum ( C ) is the correct answer and will be written
with black ballpoint as shown above.
