Faculties & Departments: Department of Pathology

Department of Pathology is a multi-dimensional as far as the working of the Department is concerned. The Department is actively involved in the teaching of undergraduate students and training of doctors. Pathology dept is committed to excellence in teaching & course delivery. Our experienced faculty excels in their field and brings practical insight & know how into the classroom to enrich the student learning. The dept is equipped with some of the state of the art facilities for augmenting the teaching of pathology. Our aim is to produce professionals who have the appropriate knowledge & skills to cater to the health care of the community.
The Department offers training programs for doctors and other health care professionals. At the moment the dept is conducting FCPS training in Haematology, MCPS in Pathology, M-Phil in Microbiology & B.Sc. program for the medical lab technologists.
Department of pathology has well equipped laboratories in the 3 allied hospitals. Each of the laboratory has separate Haematology, Microbiology, Histopathology & Chemical Pathology sections manned by personnel trained in these particular fields. Our laboratories offer excellent diagnostic facilities to the in-door and out-door patients of the Allied hospitals.
The Department of Pathology, Rawalpindi Medical College is housed in the New Campus in Holy Family Hospital but maintains a presence in the three allied hospitals. i.e Holy Family Hospital, Baenazir Bhutto Hospital and District Head-Quarter Hospital Rawalpindi.
